Hi! We are Ann Marie and Pat Reitano, founders of Outdoor Accessibility of New York, LLC.
Disability awareness has always been a part of our lives. Ann Marie grew up with two brothers who had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, giving her firsthand experience within the disability community. Pat grew up hunting and enjoying the outdoors with his family and always hoped to share that same passion with our children.
We are proud parents of three adult children — two daughters and a son with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. During one hunting trip, our son unfortunately fell from his power wheelchair and suffered a broken femur. After that experience, he no longer wanted to go hunting.
Determined to help him safely enjoy the outdoors again, we began researching reliable all-terrain mobility equipment. That search led us to the Trackchair.
After fundraising as a family, we were able to purchase one for our son. Before the New York sales representative could deliver it, he suffered a stroke and was unable to continue his work. A dealer from another state delivered the Trackchair and explained that many people were still unaware this incredible equipment even existed.
The moment we saw the excitement and freedom our son experienced in his Trackchair, we knew we wanted to help others discover the same opportunity. In 2016, we became the New York sales representative for the Trackchair and officially formed Outdoor Accessibility of New York, LLC.
The Trackchair and Trackstander are all-terrain mobility vehicles designed to help individuals with disabilities regain access to the outdoors, work environments, and everyday activities. They can be used for hunting, fishing, trail riding, farming, snow plowing, and much more. The Trackchair and Trackstander make it possible to travel through grass, mud, sand, and snow with confidence and independence.
Recently, we expanded our business by adding the eStand Lift from HyTek Hunting, and we look forward to continuing to grow by offering additional products that improve accessibility and independence for individuals with limited mobility.
At Outdoor Accessibility of New York, our mission is simple: helping people regain freedom, independence, and the ability to enjoy the outdoors again.
